Long Chen Toast House in Taman Bukit Anggerik offers a casual dining experience centered around Chinese and Malaysian comfort food, making it a friendly neighborhood spot for lunch or dinner. The restaurant’s atmosphere is unpretentious and cosy, suitable for both families with kids and groups of friends looking for a relaxed meal without pretension. The setting feels approachable—clean and comfortable, with a vibe that suits everyday dining rather than special occasions.

The menu is a mix of classic local favorites and hearty noodle dishes, reflecting a blend of Malaysian Chinese culinary influences. Dishes like the chicken chop pan mee, black pepper fried pan mee, and homemade minced pork pan mee stand out for their heartiness and flavor balance, attracting repeat diners who appreciate familiar tastes done well. For those who enjoy traditional rice dishes, options like braised pork rice and nasi rempah rendang chicken offer satisfying, fragrant plates. The inclusion of lighter soups and sides, such as meehoon soup or bursting pork balls, provides a good counterpoint to richer dishes.

Visitors tend to come here during lunchtime or early dinner hours, looking for an affordable yet filling meal. Families find it accommodating with child-friendly dishes and enough space to comfortably settle in. The steady stream of patrons suggests it works well as a neighborhood staple where locals drop by regularly rather than just passing through.

Service is straightforward with an emphasis on food rather than elaborate hospitality, fitting the casual nature of the place. Though the staff aren’t noted for impeccable attention, the atmosphere is relaxed enough that minor service quirks don’t detract from the overall experience.

Long Chen Toast House’s drinks menu adds another layer to the visit — the traditional Hainan coffee and refreshing options like mocha cold or soya grass jelly serve as pleasant complements to the meal, especially for those who enjoy familiar regional beverages alongside their food.

Overall, this spot feels best for anyone seeking a no-frills taste of everyday Malaysian Chinese flavors in a setting that’s welcoming to families and groups of friends. Lunchtime is likely the busiest and liveliest part of the day, making it a good choice for casual gatherings when you want straightforward comfort food without fuss.

Edit: it has become increasingly pricey recently. Food is still good tho. This place is a nice place to have lunch and meet with friends. It has reasonable price. Some dishes are good, some are so-so. Do try their recommendations if you want better food. The place is clean and the atmosphere is great.

Was there last week for dinner and the foods are quite delicious. Their chicken chop pan mee was a hit for the kids. We also order the tam yam noodles, Jawa mee and Loh Bak and all tasted quite delicious. Very cosy cafe, kid's friendly and the price are actually quite reasonable.

The meehoon soup is very tasty, the soup tastes so good that it is even better than Go Noodles House in my opinion. Like the dry pan mee with chicken chop, too. Worth for a try, the food is scrumptious at affordable price.

Great dining experience.. great service with a smile… quick too. Very affordable pricing. Parking is challenging though. Toast - not the best I’ve had but affordable. RM2.60 Nasi rendang ayam - the gravy is to die for and they’re not stingy. Nice and reasonable RM13.90 Basil pork rice - nothing to shout about but at RM9.90 .. I’m a happy man Hainan champing - Boleh lah RM3.60 Place is with AC and comfortable. Tables are very near each other and very small too. They play music using a PC on YouTube. Nostalgic. 80-90s music. Will definitely return for more! Not to be missed especially if you’re in the vicinity.
